This May Get CrAzY!

I can't believe my baby is almost 3. Sigh. Guess he's notsomuch a baby anymore. Friday is the big day. I have ordered firetruck cupcakes for him to take to school. He is gonna be stoked! We will be having a mini birthday party at the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville on Saturday. For this I have ordered a rocket ship cake, of course. Our good friend Bush is graduating with his Aerospace Engineering degree on Saturday. Can you say rocket scientist? Since Little Red is into all things space and Bushy is sweet enough to share the limelight they will be having a joint party. I'm pretty sure Little Red will think it's all about him (which is ok by me). The month of May is just so crazy for us this year. Take a look at my calendar~

May 9- Bush Graduation/ Little Red Bday Party, then Little Red & B-Bop Bday Dinner

May 15- Lil Big Sis Molly's 20th Birthday
May 17- Lil Big Sis Rebecca's Graduation Luncheon
May 20- Lil Big Sis Rebecca's High School Graduation
May 21-27 Family Vacay to San Juan, Puerto Rico

And somewhere in there I am supposed to squeeze working, blogging, cooking, cleaning, packing, etc. Yeah right! I admit that I am totally pumped about all the excitement going down this month and I'm so grateful that May of 2009 is so much happier than May of 2008, but I am also looking forward to the lazy daze of June. One thing is for sure, there will be no shortage of picture worthy events. Get ready!

Party Cuz It's My Birthday

Can someone send a memo to my boss about this being my Birthday WEEK and all? He actually wants me to do work. Lots of it. Whatever. I guess I'll humor him today, but I will NOT be productive tomorrow. I'm thinking about coming in late, taking a 3 hour lunch & leaving early. Good, plan huh?

While procrastinating, I've been thinking about all the awesome birthday parties I've had over years. Some of my most memorable were-
50's sock hop- 10th birthday
New Kids On The Block Party- 8th birthday
Strawberry Shortcake Party- 1st Birthday
Thanks, Mom. You rock (for having me and for throwing killer parties)!

I had a Bachelorette/Birthday Party in New Orleans for my 23rd thanks to Keke and several of my other friends. It was almost more fun than I could handle. Almost.

So far, Little Red has had:
Cowboy Party- 1st Birthday
Elmo Party- 2nd Birthday
This year will most likely be a "Wocket" Party- (that would be rocket, of course) LR is more than obsessed with outer space.

I love planning parties and all things Birthday (obviously)! I'm always looking for good ideas. What are your most memorable Birthday celebrations?

You are on the bus when you suddenly realize ... you need to pass gas. The music is really loud, so you time your gas with the beat. After a couple of songs, you start to feel better as you approach your stop. As you are leaving the bus, people are really staring you down, and that's when you realize, you have been listening to your ipod.

Gotta have some Little Red humor~

We were driving along yesterday when Kid Rock's "All Summer Long" came on the radio. Little Red got really excited and proclaimed, "Mommy, dat is MY song!" Seriously, does "his" song have to be about drinkin' whiskey outta the bottle and makin' love by the lake? Don't get me wrong, that sounds like a blast to me, but for my almost 3 year old, notsomuch.

Tonight my bestie, Keke, will arrive to help me celebrate. I'm beyond excited! Tomorrow will be jam packed with shopping fun. Looks like the rain will move out in time for my pedicured piggies to make their debut for dinner at The Melting Pot!

Rain, Rain Go Away

and come back after my birthday

It is raining like crazy here. There are wrecks all over the place, which can be chalked up to folks forgetting how to drive at the first sign of a rain drop. Totally typical. Flooding and severe weather are expected with this 6+ inches of rain coming our way over the next 4 days. Hopefully the weather will clear up just in time for dinner Saturday night. I'm going to be a not so happy camper if I am unable to wear open toed shoes- to show off my freshly pedicured tootsies, of course.

Party Like It's My Birthday

My birthday is quickly approaching (a little too quickly). Here at the Sass House we observe a week long celebration. I am embracing the big 2-8 with total excitement in an effort to keep from feeling old.

Festivities will kick off Friday night when Keke and Bush roll into town. Saturday will be awesome complete with girl time, garage sale hopping, bathing suit shopping & pedicures followed by fondue at the Melting Pot with 13 of my best buds. Dinner with other friends and some of my family is scheduled for Wednesday(my actual birthday- yep, I'm an April Fool) night. A total family celebration will occur at some point during the following weekend. We are also rejoining society and having our cable installed on Sunday as part of the celebration, which I couldn't be happier about. I also have some exciting things planned here including a post of my favorite things (Oprah style of course- complete with a giveaway). Stay tuned for "A Week of Me"- hey, it's my party and I can do whatever I want...

By the way, if any one talks to Mr. Sass, I must have a Wii. Not so subtle hints have been dropped, but I don't want there to be any confusion. Thanks!

Oh, Happy Day!

Just wanted to report that I have had the funk since Sunday. I am currently getting over strep throat and an ear infection. Thank goodness Mr. Sass has been around to handle the household duties as I have been utterly useless. I am back at work (physically) today, though I doubt I will accomplish much since my head feels like it could explode at any moment.

On a happier note, today is Mr. Sass's 32nd Birthday. I just have to say he is the best. Aside from taking care of me for the past 2 days, doing all the laundry, cooking and keeping up with Little Red, he is my best friend and the most wonderful father ever. I am hoping he won't mind delaying his celebration until this weekend when I am feeling better.

Honey, I love you and appreciate you more than you know!

By the way, I will always be younger than you!

Random Thoughts

We had a busy weekend and an even busier Monday!

First, I want to give a shout out to my baby sister. She turned 18 on Sunday. Becca, I love you and am so proud of you. You are smart, creative and beautiful: inside & out. Enjoy every moment- you will be 27 1/2 and feeling older than dirt before you know it!

We celebrated Becca's bday Sunday night at my parents house. Little Red entertained us all. He laughed at everyone's jokes and stories. He hugged and kissed everyone and told them how much he "wuvs them." He is going to make a great politician. He really is such a sweet kiddo, especially when he is sleeping!

I am so looking forward to Saturday! My mom and I are celebrating our weight loss with a night at Ross Bridge Resort. A bed to myself, full control of the remote, room & maid service. I am getting teary eyed just thinking about it. Mr. Sass and Little Red will be on their own for the night. I don't even want to think about the condition that my house will be in on Sunday when I get home. A small price to pay for 24 hours of heaven.
