Take Five

The top 5 reasons I haven't blogged in weeks, but totally should have...

I've been hurt... Over the weekend of the 4th I hurt my foot and ankle in a golf cart accident. And nope, I wasn't even on a golf course. Who knew golf carts went fast enough to hurt anyone? I've been on crutches and then in a uber sexy astronaut boot. Chasing a 3 year old while on crutches is no joke. Thanks a million to my sweet hubs, wonderful fam & awesome friends for waiting on me hand and foot. I'm so glad to be back on both feet now.

I'm Moving On Up... I got a promotion at work. Said promotion is taking every ounce of brain power I have, however I'm feeling much more challenged and fulfilled.

I've been celebrating... My sister, Molly, got into nursing school at Alabama. She is going to make a rockin nurse. I'm sure she'll end up taking care of my clumsy self. My sister, Rebecca, is getting ready to head to Ole Miss where she will be majoring in Forensic Chemistry. Seriously. I'm one proud big sister!!!!

I have a 3 year old... What happened to the terrible twos? Three is so much worse. Keeping up with Little Red these days is no joke! He gets funnier and rowdier by the day. Never a dull moment.

I've been busy packing...Thursday I'm headed to the beach for a girls weekend with my besties. The sand and sun is calling my name. I'm beyond excited!

Kiss Me Through The Phone

I just got a phone call from Little Red. Warmed my heart and cracked me up...

Me: Hello?
LR: Hey, mommy!
Me: Hey, buddy. I love you!
LR: Wuv you. How's you boo boo?
Me: It's much better. How are you?
LR: Good. I'm at GiGi's
Me: Fun! Are you being good?
LR: I'm being good and ugly.

At least he is honest. Poor GiGi.

Pain In The Foot

So, everything takes about triple the energy when you are on crutches and in pain. Therefore, I am exhausted and just trying to make it through another day. As soon as I get off work, I plan to pick up take-out and head home to veg out.

Yes, I will eat in bed.
Yes, I will take the recommended amount of pain medication.
Yes, I will read an entire book cover to cover.
Yes, I will prop my leg up and never lift a finger (or toe).
No, I will not feel bad about it.

I also won't feel bad that Little Red is at GiGi & B-Bops indefinitely, especially since he is having such good clean fun!

Anything But Independence Day

We spent the weekend in the country with Mr. Sass' family. We arrived late Thursday night, slept in on Friday morning and then headed to the pool. We had big plans to cook out with the fam Friday night and then head to the lake Saturday for fun on the boat and fireworks. All those plans came to a screeching halt, literally, when I flew off the family golf cart. I don't remember exactly what happened, but one minute I had Little Red in my lap and the next we were flying through the air. All I could think about was making sure LR didn't hit the ground. Thank the Lord, there wasn't a scratch on him. I was not so lucky. My left leg & foot are all scraped up. Can you say road rash? My knee is bruised and my ankle is totally messed up. I have been to 3 different doctors in the past 4 days. I am now on crutches and antibiotics to prevent infection. I am also in pain, alot of pain. I will go back to the orthopedist in 10 days to assess the ankle situation. Did I mention I am in pain?

Sigh. This is so not how I wanted to spend my summer. I have a girls beach trip coming up in a few weeks plus lots of other fun things planned. Now, I am a whiny, helpless, clumsy mess on crutches. I've always been Miss Independent and now I'm having to ask people for help. I hate it. I'll spare you the grossness of the pictures. They are not for the faint of heart. Every time I look at my leg I throw up in my mouth a little. Cleaning the wounds is just plain nasty and quite painful.

My parents & sisters have been at the beach all week. They are on the way home as I type this. I still can't figure out why they didn't come back as soon as I got injured. I'm totally kidding. Sort of. LR will be visiting them for a few days. Chasing after a 3 year old while on crutches is not easy. Heck, I can't even keep up with him when I'm 100%. Plus, the toys scattered all over my house are hazardous to my health (and sanity). Sorry 'bout the pity party, y'all. I'm gonna stay away til I have happy things to post...

Tag, You're It!

10 Things You May Or May Not Know About Sassy...

Coco tagged me and seeing as how I'm struggling for material I'll gladly play...

1. I come from a family of girls. I have 2 beautiful and amazing little sisters. I have no clue what to do with a smelly little boy, but I'm figuring it out one day at a time!

2. I sell trailers for a living and I love it. No, not the kind you live in. The kind you haul stuff in or on. Not so glamorous, but interesting and often entertaining. Nothing like being a woman in a man's world.

3. I LOVE all things adventurous. I love jeep riding, wake boarding, roller coasters, white water rafting and anything else that gets the adrenaline pumping.

4. When I was a wee little one my mom put me in dance lessons. My teacher IMMEDIATELY recommended gymnastics. She didn't so much love the fact that I was flipping all over the place during ballet class. My dance career was pretty short lived, but I was a gymnast through high school.

5. I read super fast. Seriously, I read all of the Twilight books in 4 days. I kid you not.

6. I love all things beachy. I want to live at the beach. I'd move tomorrow if I could. There is something about it that soothes my soul and puts my mind at ease. I'll drop everything in a second when given the opportunity for a getaway.

7. I love hoteling it with a passion. Give me maid & room service and I'm in heaven.

8. Seeing things through Little Red's eyes is my new passion. I love the enjoyment he has over simple things. Holidays are even better because he gets so excited. Everything is just so much more fun.

9. My fortune from lunch yesterday was "Tomorrow will be lucky and memorable for you."

10. Today I lost my debit card. After a minor freak out I called Wal-Mart, where I used it last. Sure 'nuff some fantastically wonderful person turned it in. Not so much what I was imagining when I open the cookie at lunch yesterday, but pretty dang lucky and memorable I'd say.

For Pee's Sake

I'm going crazy here. Little Red is as wishy washy about potty training as I am about shoes. Let's get one thing straight, he does his poopin in the potty. Thank the lord! It's the tinkling he can't seem to fully commit to. Seriously, he knows he is supposed to go in the potty and for days in a row he will fully oblige to my potty demands. As soon as I think we have it aced, he reverts back to pure laziness. He'd rather sit in his soggy wet underwear and continue playing or watching a movie. Grossness! Doesn't phase him one bit.

In every other aspect he aspires to be a big boy, yet he couldn't care less about wearing big boy underwear. Heaven help me if I try to help him wash his hair, get in the tub or fix his juice. He'll not have it cuz he is a bog boy, but call him a baby for pottying in a pull up and he just laughs. I've tried candy, reward charts, new undies that he picked out, games and everything else I can think of. He's just not giving in. Everyone says boys take longer than girls and that he won't go to kindergarten in pull ups. He knows better and just doesn't seem to care. Kill me now.

Hush Yo Mouth!

Bed time has been quite challenging at the Sass house lately. Little Red finds a bazillion reasons to get out of bed and fights his sleep like crazy. Last night he wanted Mr. Sass, who was already asleep. The convo:

LR: Mommy, I just want my daddy to sweep with me.
Me: No buddy, daddy is asleep. If you wake him up it will be big trouble.
LR: Don't say no. Dat is a bad word and daddy don't have a bad word in his mouth.
Me: Uhhhhhhhhh.....
LR: Besides, I just wanna love on my daddy. He likes that.

No kidding, kiddo. Where did my baby go? Where did this big boy with the ability to reason and justify and manipulate come from? What have I gotten myself into?

Not So Bloggeriffic!

I am such a major slacker. I have been neglecting this blog hard core lately. Not sure why...Maybe it's the amount of work that keeps getting pushed my way at the office. Maybe its the wild as heck 3 year old that demands all my time and attention. Maybe its the summer heat frying what is left of my brain cells. I'm gonna go with all of the above. I feel slightly bad about it, but not bad enough to make an promises about how often I'm gonna post over the next couple of months!

We had a fantastic Father's Day weekend. I ate way too much and had a blast at the lake. The whole fam went to see Up in 3D last night. It was super cute and Little Red was glued to the movie from start to finish. Check out some of our fun...

LR double fisting his suckers!

Cuteness!The boys.

You Would Cry Too

Watching a movie with Little Red is tons of fun (please note sarcastic tone). His commentary is priceless. He has comments and questions a plenty. You can almost see the wheels turning. For the most part his constant interrupting annoys the bajeezus out of me (especially when it is a movie I haven't seen a gazillion times). Sometimes his banter is quite cute, though. Each and every time someone cries on the TV it really gets to him. With a pitiful look on his face he says, "Him cwying. Him lost his famawee." Doesn't matter what has actually caused the tears. The tone of voice and his quivering bottom lip gets me right in the heart. It is so cute and so sad all at the same time. He is quite the sensitive lil guy (sometimes).

Just Another Manic Monday

A 3-year-old boy examined his privates while taking a bath.

'Mum', he asked, 'Are these my brains?'

'Not yet,' she replied.

Hee Hee!

Happy Monday, y'all!

Our weekend was fab. Our basement is now organized and usable and our yard is looking great. Yay for Mr. Sass! I managed to tackle some major laundry and we even fit in some pool time and a couple of naps. I realized that I have not been doing well capturing pictures of our fun. I promise I will do better in the future. It seems I never even think about taking pic until the Kodak moment has passed. Maybe I need to hire someone to follow us around and document our shenanigans. On second thought that might not be such a great idea...I'll just try to do better.

Have a wondermous week!

Be My Bra

It's time to put an end to drive-through mastectomies, ladies. I find this whole topic utterly appalling and offensive. As if losing your boobs isn't torture enough, women are sent home hours after intensive surgery scared and in major pain (with drainage tubes prone to infection) because insurance won't pay for adequate care. It is so absurd that our medical decisions are being made by pencil pushing insurance goobs and not by our highly educated doctors. Luckily some of our congressional peeps are trying to do something about this. I should have known that ta-tas would be the thing that brought democrats & republicans together.

The Bipartisan Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act Needs Your Support!
Click Here to sign the petition

It only takes 30 seconds...Do this for you, me and every other lady out there. If you have a minute, read some of the horror stories told by women who have experienced this horrible surgery. If you aren't totally ticked you have serious issues. You might even vomit in your mouth a bit. Don't say I didn't warn you... Go ahead and get angry and then get into action. Let's put a stop to drive-through mastectomies.

TGFG, Y'all

Thank
Goodness
For
Grandparents

Just when I thought I was going to lose it, in swoops GiGi to the rescue! She is saving me or the kids (depending on how you look at it). Little Red gets tomorrow off from daycare, Miss Sassypants gets to do something fun and I get to keep my sanity. Triple yay! I am meeting her for drop off tonight. Then, I have a hot date with Mr. Sass at a yummy sushi place. Adult conversation and adult beverages are just what I need. I'll be good as new when they get home tomorrow.

I Wanna Get Away

Ever had one of those days when you just wanted to run away? That was me yesterday. Everywhere I turned there were disgruntled customers and messes to clean up. No, I am not talking about at work. Sassy & Co. was in full blown drive mama crazy mode. In just 2 hours I was ready to turn in my 2 weeks notice. Who am I kidding? I was ready to turn in my 2 hours notice. It seemed as soon as I made one customer happy, another customer had issues. Each mess I cleaned up was followed by a bigger mess. Little Red dumped the toy basket in the living room at least 10 times. Miss Sassypants was just so daggum bored. But apparently not bored enough to feed the dogs, fold her laundry or lift a finger in general. Mr. Sass had a hard day and his legs, back, arms, feet and hair (ha!) were hurting. He complains more than any girl I know. Never mind the fact that I had zero sleep the night before, am cramping like a football player in the 4th quarter and had an exceedingly challenging day at work. My brain and body hurts, people.

I can guarantee you customer service will be closed tonight. I'm fresh outta compassion. Heck, I might not even go home. Think they'll miss me?

Things That Make Ya Go Awwwwwww!

So, we had a perfectly sassy yard sale this weekend. Not something I can usually convince the mister to go for, but his truck is in the shop and some extra funds will really help with the service bill that increases daily. Ick! We made about $200 in less than 2 hours. SCORE! Little Red and Miss Sassypants even enjoyed themselves. However, I did have to distract LR each time someone purchased one of his toys. He was just slightly possessive.

My favorite moment was when a lil ole white haired lady pulled up. LR saw her, then immediately handed me his juice cup and ran over to hug her right around her knees. He almost knocked the poor woman down! She was slightly surprised, but a smile quickly spread across her lips. The entire time she shopped, he followed her around looking at me and Mr. Sass proclaiming, "Dat's mine!" and "My Grand Pete!" Grand Pete was my mom's mom that passed away about a year ago. Sweetest. lady. ever. I am so glad I was wearing sunglasses because there I was boo-hooing in the midst of my yard sale and I'm not really much of a crier. Sweetest. moment. ever. I am so thankful that we have done such a great job of keeping both of my grandmothers' memories alive. I really didn't think LR would remember them since he was so young when they passed, but he often asks for his Grand Pete and his Memi. Kids are just so stinkin amazing.

Reality Check

Ahhhhhhhh! My vacay was beyond fabulous. Tons of relaxing and lots of family time made for a fantastic week. The weather was so-so and I am sad to report that I didn't come back with an awesome tan. On the flip side, Little Red didn't come back burned to a crisp. He loved every minute from packing his coota-case (suitcase) to the ariporch (airport) to the whales(waves) to the sunscream (sunscreen) to being with his favewit (favorite) aunts. He wallered in the sand, swam like a fish and napped like a champ. This mama was a happy camper.

Now, I am back to reality and a mountainous pile of stuff on my desk. Lovely. Good thing the weekend is upon us. I am easing back into this, folks. Mr. Sass's daughter is here to visit for a few weeks, so we'll be enjoying plenty of girl time together. Life is good!

Sister Sister

My baby sister, Becca, is graduating today. Tear. I feel old, proud, happy and sad all at the same time, but I'll save the major mush for her birthday! I am so stinkin proud of her. She will be heading to Ole Miss for college in the fall where she will major in forensic chemistry. For real. Anything to do with chemistry gives me a panic attack, but she will rock it. She is smart and beautiful and will no doubt be successful at whatever she decides to do. Plus, I get to go on one heck of a vacay to help her celebrate. I'm sure there will be tons of pictures. I might even do some blogging while I'm there. We'll just have to see if I'm able to tear myself away from the sun & sand long enough.

Vacation Clarification

Don't be too impressed with me for taking Little Red to Puerto Rico. All my babysitters are going with us! This trip is my youngest sister's graduation trip. You know, while all the other graduates are partying hard in Panama City or Cancun, our fam will be chillin in San Juan. We went on a cruise for my graduation a few (cough) years ago. Unfortunately, Mr. Sass won't be making the trip. He has to work. Bummer, I know. We will miss him (maybe), but we won't let his absence get us down.

After all....

This will be the view from my oh so comfy bed.

This is the swim up bar I will visit while I'm catching rays.

And this is the beach I'll be chillaxin to the max on while cabana boys serve me drinks with umbrellas and rub sunscreen on my back.

Rough life, I know. Coming back to reality will be a real buzz kill.

Ramblings of Little Red

Last night we had Little Ceaser's pizza for dinner. Seriously, you can't beat a $5 meal with a stick. I got pepperoni even though I can't stand those lil buggers. I just take 'em off and give them to Mr. Sass or the dogs. No biggie. When Little Red saw his slice of pie, he immediately freaked out shrieking "I don't wike macaronis!" At first I was confused, then I realized he was talking about the pepperonis. Ha!

We went to my sister Becca's graduation lunch at church yesterday. As soon as LR saw the balloons and decorations, he proclaimed "Dis is a party!" He ran around so full of himself looking cute as can be. He did not want to leave and repeatedly has asked to go back to church so he can party. He might be slightly confused.

We are headed to Puerto Rico on Friday. I am beyond excited. Little Red can't wait to get on the airplane. He wants to go RIGHT NOW. I totally understand where he is coming from. Patience isn't our best virtue, but we're working on it. So much laundry and packing to do and not enough time to do it all. Somehow, I'm sure we'll manage, though.

Good Golly, Miss Molly

Today is my sister Molly's 20th birthday. First and foremost, I want to apologize to her for getting married the day before her 16th birthday. Talk about stealing her thunder. It wasn't really planned that way, Mollz. It was just the only day the wedding planner and the beautiful beach house were both available. Hey, at least you got a beach trip outta the deal, right? Next, I want to wish her the bestest birthday ever (until next year of course). Let's face it 20 is a totally in between kinda year. You are no longer a teen, but you don't get the perks of being an adult yet.

Warning- this could get slightly mushy, so I understand if you want to skip ahead!

Dear Molly,

You are beautiful inside and out. You are so important to our family and God has blessed us with you. The day you came home from the hospital I never could have imagined the truly amazing woman that you have become. Ramsey loves you so much and it makes my heart so happy to know that you will always be such an important part of his life. I am so lucky to have you as my sister. I love every moment I get to spend with you and am looking forward to this summer so much. I am proud of everything you have accomplished and all the great decisions you have made. I am grateful for all the good times we have had and am beyond excited about what the future holds for you. Happy Birthday, precious sister. I love you so very much.

Love, Cassie

Don't say I didn't warn ya about the mush factor.Sentimental and mushy isn't really my bag of chips, but the occasion seemed to call for it. Plus, if you know Molly you totally understand.

Presh!

Fireman & nurse...Perfect combo!
LR loves his Aunt Ma-wee!

She's just as much a prepneck as me!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BIG LIL SIS!!!!!!!

Psh.....It Happens!

Yesterday was one of those days. It was so bad that it almost became humorous. My boss was in a horrible mood, which made work no fun a'tall. Everything that could go wrong did. Then, on my way home from work I stopped at the ever so classy Dollar General, where I was falsely and rudely accused of stealing a diet coke by a hussy with a bad attitude. Shut the front door! I proceeded to make a huge mess trying to prepare dinner resulting in multiple broken dishes. As if that wasn't enough, Little Red slipped in the bathtub and gashed his chin open. In true LR fashion, my kiddo was way tougher than his mama. I proceeded to have a glass (or several) of el cheapo wine. Don't you judge me!

Today is much better, thanks. Mr. Sass and I are celebrating 4 years of wedded bliss. In some ways I can't believe how quickly the time has passed and in other ways it seems like we've been married foreva. I am super lucky to have such a wonderful friend and hubs. Here's to many more!

Our first dance as Mr. & Mrs. Sass. I swear I have a dress on.
I jus't don't have any other wedding pics on this computer.

We will be eating out tonight, so I won't be a hazard in the kitchen. I will NOT (ever) got to Dollar General. LR will not be bathing and the boss man is out of the office today. Things are totally looking up. Who cares if my kid is the smelly kid or that I have to pay $5 for an anniversary card? My sanity is a tad more important (today).

Save The Drama For Your Mama

Little Red has a flair for the dramatic.

Last night I wouldn't give him candy til he finished his dinner. He looked into my eyes with the most pathetic look on his face and said, "Mommy, you dust bwoke my heart."

Seriously, where does he come up with this stuff?

Blast Off!

The weekend was very busy and totally successful. We partied it up at The Space & Rocket Center for Little Red's Birthday and Bush's Graduation. LR was in heaven checking out the rockets and other space paraphernalia. He rode the rides, climbed the rock wall and had tons of fun.
Congrats to Bush & Keke! We are so stinkin' proud. They are now on a cruise ship headed for the Bahamas. I don't know anyone that deserves it more...

Check out the shirt. It says "Actually I am a Rocket Scientist" Haha! I don't know what LR is doing in this photo...

Check out the cake! Holy cuteness, batman.

See the kid in the very middle, Yep, the little bitty one one with the red Crocs. That would be the fearless Little Red. He LOVED this ride.

LR climbing the rock wall. They tried to tell him he wasn't big enough, but he wasn't hearing it. He climbed higher than most of the big kids.

Mr. Sass and LR checking out the moon exhibit...

LR's favorite exhibit. This is the donation box. Ha!

I had a lovely Mother's Day with my mom. I am so lucky to have her. Mama, you are the best!

This May Get CrAzY!

I can't believe my baby is almost 3. Sigh. Guess he's notsomuch a baby anymore. Friday is the big day. I have ordered firetruck cupcakes for him to take to school. He is gonna be stoked! We will be having a mini birthday party at the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville on Saturday. For this I have ordered a rocket ship cake, of course. Our good friend Bush is graduating with his Aerospace Engineering degree on Saturday. Can you say rocket scientist? Since Little Red is into all things space and Bushy is sweet enough to share the limelight they will be having a joint party. I'm pretty sure Little Red will think it's all about him (which is ok by me). The month of May is just so crazy for us this year. Take a look at my calendar~

May 2- Jake & KT's wedding- DONE
May 8- Little Red & BBop's Birthday & Lil Big Sis Rebecca's Prom
May 9- Bush Graduation/ Little Red Bday Party, then Little Red & B-Bop Bday Dinner
May 10- Mother's Day
May 14- My Anniversary
May 15- Lil Big Sis Molly's 20th Birthday
May 17- Lil Big Sis Rebecca's Graduation Luncheon
May 20- Lil Big Sis Rebecca's High School Graduation
May 21-27 Family Vacay to San Juan, Puerto Rico

And somewhere in there I am supposed to squeeze working, blogging, cooking, cleaning, packing, etc. Yeah right! I admit that I am totally pumped about all the excitement going down this month and I'm so grateful that May of 2009 is so much happier than May of 2008, but I am also looking forward to the lazy daze of June. One thing is for sure, there will be no shortage of picture worthy events. Get ready!

Wedding Crashers

What a weekend! We partied it up in Auburn (ew!) for Jake and Katie's wedding (yay!). Everything was perfect. The mansion was straight out of a fairytale. The guests were fabulous. The food was delish. The flowers were beautiful and the bride was breath taking. I even got the honor of doing her makeup, which turned out beautifully. Duh! Who am I kidding? I was a nervous wreck. Seriously, she will look at these picture forever. No pressure!

Yesterday was a long day, though. We spent 7 plus hours driving all over the state. We had to pit stop at Mr. Sass's parents to pick up Little Red and wait out some nasty weather. We didn't get home til way too late and I am struggling today, so just sit back and check out the wedding fun~

Helping Katie put on her grandmother's jewelry...
The gorgeous bride. She was stunning...

Getting my drank on at the reception...

Keke and me cheezing (as always)...

Dance Party USA. I was slightly concerned (hopeful) that someone might fall in the pool. No such luck...

The beautiful fountain outside the mansion. The place was incredible.

The send off...Jake and Katie are now at an ecolodge in Costa Rica. Just chillin in the rain forest getting their honeymoon on.

So Stinkin' Sad And Happy...

Little Red has a new favorite saying. When he gets in trouble or does something wrong or if he doesn't like what I have to say, he says "Mommy, dat is jest so sad" while sporting the most pitiful face ever. It was pretty funny the first few times, but now it is getting old. You know he's mad for real when you get the "so sad" along with the "you're not my best fwiend anymore."

Later today we are heading south. LR is going to Camp Nanu & Pop to fish and play in the country. I know he will have a blast. Mr. Sass and I are headed to enemy territory (aka Auburn) for a weekend wedding extravaganza.

The wedding is here...

I'll be wearing this...

and these are my dancin' shoes. Anyone wanna place bets on how long I'll be able to keep 'em on my tootsies...
Who cares as long as I look cute, right?

Best Friends Foreva!

Little Red now has a bestie! He has been mentioning Gabe, his friend from school very regularly. Yesterday he told me that Gabe is now his "best fwiend". Until yesterday I've always been his "best fweind" (most of the time). Tear. Guess he is outgrowing me.

Last night we were doctoring one of LR's (many) boo-boos. I put some medicine and a Transformer band aid on it and LR was all set. A few minutes later he came back and told me he needed the medicine to take to school. I'm certain my face showed a look of confusion because he promptly said, "I need it to fix Gabe's boo-boo on his knee. I can make it aw better." Be still my heart. Y'all, I nearly melted into a puddle on the floor. My little tough boy totally has a soft side. Don't tell his daddy!

WARNING!

I got this email earlier and wanted yall to be aware. Between this and Swine Flu, I'm considering drastic measures...

The (CDC) Center for Disease Control has issued a medical alert about a highly contagious, potentially dangerous virus that is transmitted orally, by hand, and even electronically. This virus is called Weekly Overload Recreational Killer (WORK). If you receive WORK from your boss, any of your colleagues or anyone else via any means whatsoever - DO NOT TOUCH IT!!! This virus will wipe out your private life entirely. If you should come into contact with WORK you should immediately leave the premises.

Take two good friends to the nearest liquor store and purchase one or both of the antidotes - Work Isolating Neutralizer Extract (WINE) and Bothersome Employer Elimination Rebooter (BEER). Take the antidote repeatedly until WORK has been completely eliminated from your system. Be a good citizen and notify others of this alert. If you do not have five friends, you have already been infected and WORK is controlling your life.

Just Add Water

Lake Daze have officially begun. We spent the day Saturday fishing and boating. Brooke & Scotty are in the process of building a fabulous house (I really should have taken pictures of its awesomeness). Here is the view from their bedroom. Rough life, huh?
Little Red LOVED every minute of it. It's a miracle he didn't get snake bit or covered in poison ivy.
LR took his first spin in a kayak and was actually pretty good at the whole paddling thing. I can't for the life of my figure out what is so fun about kayaking. I'm quite the adventurer, but have no desire to even go there. I mean you are STUCK in that tiny, silly looking boat all alone. There isn't even a place for a cooler. Craziness I tell ya, but Mr. Sass obsessed, so I'm thinking I need to up our life insurance policy.
And this little ladies man is Blaine. He is Brooke and Scotty's one year old. He is ALL BOY just like LR. He is one tough cookie with the sweetest little (dirty) face. He musta fallen down a zillion times, but I never even heard him cry. He LOVED my camera and would have gladly posed all day for me.

My cousin, Sara Kate, had a baby girl on Sunday and she is PRECIOUS.
Introducing Harper...
I can't wait to meet her in person. Just look at those sweet rosy cheeks. Mama and baby are doing perfectly.

Workin On My Bizzness

I've been informed that I am slacking (Thanks, Molly). I sincerely apologize for my lack of blogging (Molly). I have been crazy busy this week. The boss man is at the beach livin it up and I am left here to handle the craziness. Can you believe the nerve? Longest. week. of. my. life. It's been madness, I tell ya. 5 o'clock can't get her soon enough. Happy hour on my deck is gonna be hardcore. As captain of this ship I authorized a lunchtime cookout. Yummers! I did not, however, authorize the the wearing of tube tops at work. Not a pretty sight on a lady that could be my grandmother. Put some clothes on, woman! I'm just saying.

Little Red and I are going fishing tomorrow. He is PUMPED to say the least. Ever since he caught his first little fishy from the dock on Easter, he has been chomping at the bits to go again. I'm having a hard time believing his patience will be as good this time but we'll see. We pass 2 lakes going to and fro daycare and EVERY time he tells me he wants to "go fwishin in dat lake!" We are headed out on the boat, so I'm sure I'll be his "best fwiend." If you need me tomorrow, I'll be soaking up the rays at the lake with my little man and some great friends.

I'll be traveling for work at the beginning of next week, but I promise (Molly) that I'll be back Tuesday with some seriously blog worthy material.

Just Beachin'

I'm having a really hard time getting back into the groove. All I can think about is the beach and how badly I want to be back there. I'm done with work stress and 8 to 5s with no summer break. Give me a job in a little store on shore and I'll be one happy mama. Guess I should have bought a lottery ticket while I was in Florida. I just can't get my head in the game. Life is super hectic already and the month of May is gonna be no joke around here. From a wedding (and everything leading up to it) to multiple graduation celebrations, birthdays, vacation and anniversaries. My head is spinning as I try to process it all. In an effort to soothe my brain, lets just look at this for a minute...

This was the view from the chair where I happily planted my rear for 2 days straight. Ahhhhhhh!

Yes, this pic is now my computer screen saver, phone background and has been burned into my brain, thank you. Can't ya just hear the waves crashing?

Now, back to reality...

Girls Rule!

The weekend was absolutely fabulous. The group of ladies was perfect- an amazing combination of smart and funny. My tummy hurts from laughing so hard. I got to catch up with old pals and make some great new friends. What can I say? We totally rocked Seagrove Beach. Coming home Sunday was not fun a'tall. I needed at least another week of vacation. At least. I didn't get many pictures. Sorry y'all, I was just too busy having fun.

Here is the bachelorette in all her garb. Congrats, KT!

Keke and me cheezing it up at Bud & Alleys...

And our crew after a fab dinner of seafood alfredo (Thanks, Susie & KT) and before our beach house dance par-tay USA. That's how we roll.

Other gals took tons of pictures, so I am sure I'll have more for you later and don't worry our next girls ONLY getaway is already in the works!
