I win! The bad mommy award, that is. I ASSumed that Little Red's school party would be tomorrow. You know, the day of the school week closest to actual Valentine's Day. We arrived this morning, sippy cup and pop tart (don't judge me) in hand. When we entered the building I noticed all the other moms were loaded down with bags of candy and other goodies. My heart stopped for a minute. Like when you forget to study for a big test or show up for a presentation without your notes. I quickly found his sweet teacher and confirmed that the party was in fact today. She nodded and said it starts at 10 o'clock. Shut the front door! I cried inside.

I had all these plans for us to make cute little Valentines and love bug cupcakes, plus I was going to pump LR up about the party and dress him up all cutseyish. Instead, I hightailed it outta there straight to the Piggly Wiggly across the street, where I purchased Valentines, cupcakes & even suckers- to try to make up for being such a bad mama, of course. I sat in the parking lot and filled out the cards and then left everything in the office- like that was my plan all along. I'm pretty sure LR will never know the difference, but I can't help feeling like a total loser.

Awww ... way to save the day though! Mommy points to you for that!! I hate when something like that happens ... you feel awful inside!!
You aren't a loser...Shit happens..EVERY Tuesday is Library Day. Has been since the second week of school. EVERY Tuesday I forget to pack Trev's book from last week to return. It is now a joke with the teachers.
Thank the lord the party didn't start until ten o'clock. Way to save the day!
HATE that feeling, but way to recover Momma!
