Cool Enough For School

Little Red started "school" today. Yep, I finally made the decision to start him when the sitter gave me less than 24 hours notice that she couldn't keep him today. Seriously. Don't even get me started on that. But, you should have seen the look on his face when I told him. He was so excited. He helped me pack his extra clothes, nap mat and pillow. He insisted on taking his back pack. He even went to bed fairly easily because I told him the sooner he went to sleep, the sooner he could go to school.

Everything went smoothly this morning. He got up and got dressed easily. He even sat at the front door waiting on me. Shocker, I know. When we went to get in the Yukon, he told me he wanted to ride the bus. He even headed toward the sidewalk. I tried to explain that his school doesn't have a bus, but he wasn't having it. He just couldn't understand why the bus wasn't coming to get him. Eventually I guess he'll realize there is no bus...

Upon arrival, we were greeted by several familiar, smiling faces. This was the daycare that Little Red went to when he was 6 weeks old. Everyone was so excited to see him. I'll just tell ya it was much easier to leave him this time. We went to his classroom where he immediately began inspecting the toys and his new friends. He never gave me a second look.
I called to check on him a few minutes ago. His teacher said, "He is such a good little boy." I hope she was talking about the right kid. In the past I've heard "Wow, he is all boy!", "Gosh, he has so much energy!" and "Man, he is quite a handful.", but never has anyone told me he's a good little boy. I'm so proud, y'all! Guess we'll see how tomorrow goes...

I deleted B&Bs comment cuz it contained her e-mail address, not cuz I sensor comments. But I could if I wanted to. It's my blog after all! :)

Awww...I'm so happy for you guys! I know it made the transition way easier for you watching him go right in and making himself at home. That is so cute about the bus!

The backpack pic is adorable. It makes me teary-eyed when I take backpack pics...it's just proof they're growing up!

Way to go LR for doing such a great job today at your new school!
